Great news for Bihar, after 17 years, Bihar has again been selected as a team to play Ranji Trophy Tournament. The technical committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unanimously agreed to have a team from Bihar in Ranji Tournament.
Issuing a statement about the details of their meeting held, a BCCI office Bearer said:
“The technical committee in the meeting was unanimously in favor of Bihar, that a team will play in Ranji Trophy and other similar tournaments. This has been issued in accordance with the order given by Supreme Court on “January 4, 2018, “Bihar shall play the cricket” the Bench clarified that it was passing the decision without any argument or application as an interim measure and the BCA, which has been elected by virtue of the order of this court shall be in charge of the same”.
- The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) is a cricket team representing Bihar in different domestic cricket competitions.
- Bihar played 236 first-class matches, in which winning 78, losing 56, and drawing 102.
- The team competed in Ranji trophy since 1936-2000, after which due to some dispute in the cricket administration of Bihar, two separate cricket associations were formed.
- Now, again the Cricketers of Bihar can play and represent their own state in Ranji trophy tournament.
