SARAS MELA 2017

Two week Saras Mela started at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan from Dec 12. This year the theme of the Saras Mela is based on ‘Udyami Mahilayen, Khushhaal Desh’. The fair has been organised by the Union Ministry of Rural Development in association with Jeevika, a World Bank supported rural livelihood project in the state.

The fair is aimed at motivating rural and small entrepreneurs. Like every year, this year also it will have stalls selling furniture, carpets, dress materials and fabric, accessories and home decor items from different parts of the country.

Home Decor

Handmade crafts made from wood and bamboo, Mithila Painting, Terracotta Artwork, Silk Handlooms, Khadi and Jute Handicrafts are also available at the fair. People who love to decorate their house with such creative things can visit this mela. Apart from home furnishing items, jewelry, clothes, footwear, accessories, can also be bought at reasonable price.

Home Antique

Along with spicy and full flavored foods there is also some good sort of arrangements for audience such as street plays, magic shows, stand up comedy and other cultural programs such as folk songs and folk dance of Bihar which will be organised every evening from 5 pm to 8 pm in the temporary auditorium that has the capacity to house about 1000 people.

Food Stall

So people if  handmade crafts fascinates you and you are inclined towards beautiful Mithila painting, art Handlooms and many more such things, then this is definitely for you. This is combination of good food with great entertainment with beautiful handicrafts.
